SALEM ART WORKS FELLOWSHIP
2015

" Today I cut, slash, dig, and smash

though it does not make a sound.

Push, pull, lash, and weave it around

  to keep the world out.

  I blindly walk through it,

those that see, scatter and flee.

I live above it, but I cannot deny

I came from it long before birth.

Yet I claim it as my own.

  Today I consume it,

  tomorrow it me. "

Made with natural material (birch bark, tree limbs,

leaves, stone, etc...) collected from one square acre,

   twine, and tools carried in.
